How to Install Artificial Grass on a Balcony

Steps to Follow

Measure Your Area:

Start by measuring the space accurately. Consider the purpose of the area—will it be used by pets or kids, or is it primarily for aesthetic appeal? Also, check for any glass surfaces, as well as potential UV magnification issues. If UV-related problems are a concern, we recommend our Heat Block 28 product to minimize the risk of melting

Get the Right Measurements:

Ensure you have accurate measurements and plan the laying directions. Most artificial grass comes in 2-meter and 4-meter wide rolls, so make sure to order accordingly based on your space.

Optional – Drainage Considerations:

To maximize drainage, especially if your balcony has limited water flow, consider using K9 Air Drain cells to improve water drainage beneath the grass.

Prepare the Surface:

If you're installing the grass directly onto the surface, start by thoroughly cleaning the area to remove any debris.

For Pet Areas:

If the space will be used by dogs, it’s recommended to use a K9 Grass product, seal the surface with a suitable sealer and use K9 Air Drain cells to improve drainage and prevent odors.

Installation:

Use commercial-grade double-sided joining tape to secure the seams of your artificial grass. Trim the edges neatly to fit the area and stick the tape securely to the surface.
